Impartiality & Confidentiality Policy

1. Commitment

IAQP’s top management is committed to impartiality in all certification and accreditation activities. We understand the importance of impartiality to the value of our credentials and manage conflicts of interest to ensure objective decisions.

2. Managing threats to impartiality

IAQP identifies, analyses and documents potential threats to impartiality, including self-interest, self-review, familiarity and intimidation, and puts controls in place to eliminate or minimise them. Commercial, financial or other pressures are not allowed to compromise impartiality.

3. Separation of training and certification

Training delivered by IAQP or its partners is kept separate from certification decisions. Personnel who have trained a candidate do not take part in assessing or deciding on that candidate’s certification.

4. Declarations

Staff, assessors, examiners and committee members declare any actual or potential conflict of interest and are excluded from activities where a conflict exists.

5. Confidentiality

Information obtained during certification and accreditation activities is treated as confidential and is not disclosed without the consent of the person or organization concerned, except where required by law. Exam materials are kept secure at all times.

6. Review

Impartiality is reviewed regularly by IAQP management, with input from interested parties, and the results are used to improve our controls.
