Exam Rules & Policies

1. Purpose

These rules ensure that every IAQP exam is fair, secure and consistent for all candidates, wherever they sit the exam.

2. Booking and rescheduling

Candidates book their exam once their application has been approved. Requests to reschedule should be made in advance of the exam date through the IAQP team. Late rescheduling or failure to attend may result in the exam attempt being forfeited.

3. Technical requirements

• A computer with a stable internet connection
• A working webcam and microphone
• A supported web browser
• A quiet, private, well-lit room

Candidates are responsible for checking their equipment before the exam.

4. Identity verification

Candidates must present a valid, government-issued photo ID before the exam starts. The name on the ID must match the name on the application. Candidates who cannot be verified will not be allowed to start the exam.

5. Conduct during the exam

• No other person may be present in the room.
• Books, notes, phones, smart watches and other devices are not permitted unless the exam specifically allows reference material.
• Candidates must not copy, record, photograph or share exam content.
• Candidates must remain visible to the camera for the whole exam.

6. Malpractice

Any attempt to gain an unfair advantage, impersonate another candidate or disclose exam content is treated as malpractice. IAQP may terminate the exam, void the result and apply sanctions, including a ban from future exams and withdrawal of any certification already held.

7. Reasonable adjustments

Candidates who need reasonable adjustments, for example extra time, should request them when applying and provide supporting information. IAQP considers each request individually and confidentially.

8. Results

Results are confirmed after IAQP has reviewed the exam session. Candidates receive their result by email. Exam questions and answers are not released.

9. Re-sits

Candidates who do not pass may apply to re-sit the exam. Re-sit conditions and any waiting period are confirmed with the result.

10. Appeals

Candidates may appeal an exam result or decision in line with the IAQP Complaints & Appeals Policy.
